insTuner is a chromatic tuner that helps you to tune instruments quickly and accurately. It also features a Tone Generator just like a pitch pipe with four different wave forms.
It is suitable for tuning acoustic or electric guitar and bass, ukulele, mandolin, banjo, bouzouki, bowed strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, timpani and more.
It's accurate, dynamic and easy to use.
When insTuner detects a frequency, the needle will point to the corresponding chromatic note.
The number under the dial shows the octave of the note.
Like to tune by ear? No problem!
insTuner is just like your pitch pipe!
The tone generator offers four different wave forms.
Just select a octave and note, tap and go!
insTuner supports different tuning modes applicable to different situations, such as Instant Tuning Unit for quickening tune-and-play, Fine and Strobe Units for accurate fine tuning, and FFT and Spectrogram Units for sound analysis.
If you are on stage, or just want to quickly tune and play, select this mode.
The bar on the right means the note is sharp, so you should flatten it to bring the note into tune.
When the note is in tune, the display background will turn green.
The display shows the currently detected note, and its color varies according to the accuracy of its tuning.
The meter shows the cent deviation sharp or flat.
Strobe Mode uses another tuning method, which is even more accurate.
The bars scroll to the left when the note is too flat and to the right when the note is too sharp.
When the note is in tune, the bars remain still.
FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) is a useful tool to analyze the frequencies present in the sound.
You can change the scale of the x-axis to logarithmic, linear or to display the note names.
The spectrogram is a visual representation that shows how the spectral density of a signal varies with time. (See more information on Wikipedia.)
