Frequently asked questions

Is Pro Metronome free? What platforms does it run on?

Yes. Pro Metronome is free to download on iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play).

How do I change the tempo?

Three ways: turn the tempo dial, tap the BPM number at the top to type an exact value, or use Tap Tempo to tap it out in time with the music.

How do I open the settings?

Place a finger on the left edge of the screen and drag right to slide the settings panel in.

How do I accent or silence specific beats?

Tap the beat blocks at the top of the home screen (or the Accents row in the time-signature panel) and cycle each beat through full accent, sub accent, normal, or silent.

Can it do triplets, odd time signatures and polyrhythms?

Yes. Tap the time signature to set the meter and choose a subdivision (eighths, triplets, dotted and off-beat patterns), or turn on Polyrhythm for layers like 3:2, 4:5 and 4:7.

What is the Rhythm Trainer?

It mutes some beats — "ghost clicks" — so you keep time on your own until the click returns, training your internal pulse. It offers fixed and randomized muting.

How do I gradually speed up while practicing?

Use Practice Mode. Warm-up steps through percentage-of-goal sections; Automator raises the tempo by a fixed amount every few bars up to a target.

Can I save tempos for a live set?

Yes. Playlist Mode stores a tempo and beat settings per song; Stage Mode gives big buttons with auto-switch and auto-stop for the stage.

Can it flash or vibrate instead of playing a sound?

Yes — enable haptic vibration and/or the screen flash and the front-facing camera light (availability depends on your device).
